2012 Quiksilver Rincon Classic Presented By Channel Islands Surfboards

The winter surf is finally upon us and so the Rincon Classic has arrived. Surf permitting, Santa Barbara's oldest and most revered surfing competition will return to Rincon Point for its 29th year on January 21st and 22nd, 2012. The 2012 Quiksilver Rincon Classic, presented by Channel Islands Surfboards, produced by Surf Happens, brings the best local wave-riders together to celebrate the Santa Barbara surf, sand, and sea, and to compete for pride, division titles, loads of prizes, and custom drum and belt buckle trophies.
An all-ages pro-am event, the Classic features divisions ranging from the 11 & under "Gremlins," to the 55+ "Legends," and will run from 7:00am to 5:00pm both days. Live commentating, an ASP-certified judging panel, and computerized scoring displays courtesy of Beach Byte, provides onlookers and contestantswith instant feedback on where each surfer stands in each heat.
